Wednesday night was such a good night. I got home from the gym after an awesome 4 mile run and MrHoppy had dinner waiting. A healthy and delicious dinner which makes me so happy.
We were sitting at the table and I was rambling on about money, his upcoming boys trip to Chicago and how I feel like I'm not allowed to spend our money on anything for myself. I feel selfish doing it. I also feel like things he wants take priority over things I want. It wasn't a fight at all, just a calm and adult conversation.
Imagine my surprise when he went to the garage and came in and handed me a receipt. I thought it was the receipt from renting our snowshoes last weekend so I said I didn't want it. He said "yes you do"
He bought me the Burton board I found on sale last weekend. I spent all week researching it online, reading reviews and pretty much drooling over it. My current board is too big for me so I knew I needed a smaller one.
After some (very happy) tears, kisses and hugs I asked where my beloved board was? It was in the shop at REI being prepped and waxed.
I called (stalked) them yesterday to see when it would be ready. I was so excited when they told me we could pick it up after the gym! So... here it is! I LOVE it and can't wait to ride on Sunday. I have visions of myself flying down the slopes like a pro!
Sorry for the crappy picture, it was taken last night about 8PM with my iPhone. It's a 144 Burton Feather. They claim it's nearly impossible to catch an edge on this board. We'll see about that after Sunday! My brother in law is going to come over and put my current bindings on for me and I'll be all set!
Have a great weekend everyone!

good for you. I love that you have such a passion for boarding. It's so important for those of us going through fertility challenges to have something like this that makes them happy. Mine is horseback riding.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the cute new board - I can ski, but I stink at snowboarding : )
